Day job: musical instrument #repairer. Here I am, working on an old German, Anglo system #concertina. These always seem to be low quality student level instruments. This one uses string and wool as gasket material !

So I'm doing some thinking and came to the question of what exactly am I doing here. (In so many contexts, but let's stick to the #Mastodon one for now.)

And the answer came that essentially I'm a #repairer. It's my main #hobby and if I didn't have to have a job then that's what I'd like to do instead.

So if future toots, that's what I'm going to discuss.

I managed to get another #Repair done today.

Many years ago I was invited to pull a #Wheelchair (and other stuff) out of a skip at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.

I have since repaired the chair so that Mum could be pushed to her hospital appointments when needed.

Today I finally replaced the crumbling solid tyres with some new pneumatic ones. I didn't think the old solids would last another trip.
