Miracle-WM 0.6 veröffentlicht!

Was ist Miracle-WM?

I've installed just about every tiling compositor / Window Manager for #Wayland, and am slowly eliminating the ones that have showstopper issues.
* #Sway is good, and I love that all my i3 configs can be used, but scaling the display on my high-DPI monitors was just unusably awful,
* #MiracleWM just flat-out refused to run, and I'm not motivated to put the time in to fix whatever is wrong
* #hyprland is another of the mainstream WMs (as much as a tiling window manager for #Linux can be called mainstream), and works really well, in terms of having the most bells and whistles—like really good scaling with the option of leaving XWayland windows unscaled—but at the cost of a pretty greedy amount of CPU usage even when it's not doing anything.
* #RiverWM looks like a good contender, though it feels like it's a small project and early in the development process. Best thing: they use good ol' IRC for the user forum, rather than reddit. I think I've found my people.

MiracleWM 0.5 is now live

The MiracleWM developers have released the fifth major version (the 0.x series) of the window manager, called MiracleWM 0.5. To celebrate the release, they’ve released a video of the release demo showcasing new features below:

https://youtu.be/KwOp8J09Zdw

This version of Miracle WM introduces support for drag and drop containers and movement for floating containers with your mouse. For i3 window manager fans, Miracle WM now supports i3’s command criteria, minus the X11-specific bits that don’t work with Wayland.

Animations transform your desktop experience and make it more vibrant. To cater to this requirement, Miracle WM 0.5 adds window closing animations and the ability to fade windows in and out with the default behavior being enabled.

To make the release more stable, Miracle WM 0.5 has a lot of bug fixes and general improvements, such as full-screen windows that now appear on the correct layer, as well as X11 application flickering that should be nonexistent.

To get this version of Miracle WM, follow one of the guides to get started:
