Highly recommend using elk.zone as your browser-based Mastodon interface. Go to elk.zone and log into your account. The interface feels very familiar to this bird site refugee. #elkzone #mastadonapp #mastoUX

@cstross @ArmyGirl @ChrisMayLA6 @fencoul I'd partly blame #Mastodon's terrible UI for this problem.

On the #ActivityPub level, Content Warnings occupy the title/name slot of a post (you know, that old subject field for #email or #Usenet articles? It was there for a reason).

That should be exposed directly and shouldn't count against character count in posts.

I like the 'favourite' button, and as I said before, would love if boosters got notified of faves of boosts…

But another important #featureRequest is having aggregated favourites and boosts notifications.

A popular toot overwhelms your notif's and makes filtering is needed ("mentions" in the adv web interface).

Aggregated notifications that can be expanded to see individual faves would be nice.

ie "these 23 people favourited your post" with a string of icons.

It bothers me that #WebEtension and #webextensions are two distinct tags. The flow of a sentence might make singular or plural more appropriate, but when I go looking for posts about this topic I have to make sure to search both. That bit of #MastoUX isn’t great

Idées en vrac de fonctionnalités pour ne pas reproduire les mécanismes de captation de l'attention sur Masto :
- Augmenter de beaucoup la limite de caractères des posts
- Limiter le nombre de personnes qu'on peut suivre
- Mettre en avant les comptes qui postent peu
- Mettre un délai dans la publication de réponse a des gens que tu ne suis pas
- Limiter le nombre de boosts par jour
