I've just posted my very tardy post-conference report for the #LinuxAppSummit that I attended a month ago. The conference was amazing! Many thanks to the Ubuntu Community Fund for helping me get there 💜 #ubuntu #LAS2023 https://lucyllewy.com/post-conference-report-las-2023/
Post Conference Report Las 2023

I was privileged to attent the Linux App Summit 2023, between April 21st and 23rd 2023, where I joined with Merlijn Sebrechts to co-present a shared talk about our work on Sommelier as part of the Snapcrafters Project. During the conference we got to meet and talk with a wide range of influential and knowledgeable people within the Linux desktop comunity with representatives from both KDE and Gnome present among many others.

Hello! Better late than never, I’ve just published an event report from Linux App Summit 2023 that took place this year in one of my favorite cities in Central Europe - Brno, Czechia.

Welcome back to the @Linux4Everyone podcast!

A talk at #LAS2023 about software sustainability -- and the environmental impact of power-hungry code -- was a shocking wake-up call that's too important to ignore. So, please give a warm welcome to the creator of that talk, @kde's Joseph P. De Veaugh-Geiss

Episode 58: Power Up and Freak Out

A conversation with KDE's Joseph De Veaugh-Geiss about the path the project is forging to create a culture of software sustainability and inspire more power-efficient software. Our conversation might dramatically change how you think about the apps you use, and the potentially devastating ecological footprint of the software installed on millions -- if not billions -- of devices.

Linux For Everyone
Thank you to all our amazing attendees and sponsors who made the #LAS2023 a huge success! Your support and engagement made the event truly special. Let's continue to bring the global Linux community together to learn, collaborate, and help grow the Linux application ecosystem.
I was so intrigued by #GNOME on mobile phones at #LAS2023 that I bought this beauty.
Are there any ready-to-use images with GNOME Shell (ideally) or Phosh for #oneplus6?
Had many good discussions at #LAS2023 on the final pieces in the puzzle to roll out #UnifiedPush on Linux. I've tried to summarize the main points here: https://volkerkrause.eu/2023/04/29/las-2023-push-notifications.html #KDE
Linux App Summit 2023

Last weekend I attended the Linux App Summit (LAS) 2023 in Brno, Czechia, to speak about push notifications and to get a few remaining interoperability issue...

At the Linux Apps Conference 2023 #LAS2023 (sic., that's really GNU/Linux), Dor Askayo talks about making the Freedesktop SDK project #bootstrappable, bringing the benefits of a clear dependency graph of fully auditable code and a build process independent from the previous binary version of Freedesktop SDK (which depended on its previous binary version, which...).

Lovely to see how quickly they took full advantage of us closing the gap between Stage0 and GNU Mes!
