Here we see in its material habitat the aptly named Bicycle Tree. The Bicycle tree has evolved a unique survival mechanism: it lures bicyclists by growing bicycle-wheel shaped branches, and when bicyclists climb the tree to get the wheel, the tree’s sticky sap traps them, providing a source of rich nutrients for the tree.
