The only solution to this #enshittified #wifi was to log in using vanilla #Firefox. Neither #Waterfox nor #ZenBrowser are insecure enough to allow me onto this #HotelWifi.

This does not speak well about Firefox.

Public service announcement: THIS DOES NOT WORK!

My computer was drawing on the cellular data plan. Somehow, the enshittified wifi refused the hotspot tether.

Spent all this time trying to work out how to get the Dropbox app to sync through the hotel wifi, trying to figure out what combination of VPN or proxy would let me download my 129GB of critical data.

The solution was simple, and was right in front of me the entire time. Don't use the sync tool. It won't tell you why it's not working, and won't even really tell you it's not working.

Instead, use Dropbox in a browser and suck down the files over HTTPS.

Ever stayed at a hotel and realised they don't have IPv6? Frustrating, right? Imagine a website where you can look up and report hotels based on their IPv6 capabilities!

Turns out ipv6.travel is available.
