The only solution to this #enshittified #wifi was to log in using vanilla #Firefox. Neither #Waterfox nor #ZenBrowser are insecure enough to allow me onto this #HotelWifi.
This does not speak well about Firefox.
@OrionKidder Had this exact problem with the WiFi at the downtown Hilton in Harrisburg PA. The only way to access it was FF on my Ubuntu laptop. Waterfox wouldn't work, nor would FF on my bog-standard Android phone. Once I got past the access gate on my laptop, it worked OK.
Terribly inconvenient. Not sure if it was a security issue or just poor configuration. Surely a lot of folks would be bitching about their cellphones?
@lemgandi It's an annoying process to get online even if your device works, so I do plan to complain about it, but hotels are just as monopolized as every other industry, so I have zero expectation they'll change it or even apologize for how shitty it is.
