76. Wellington Church

🧠 I thought the building looked amazing bathed in sunlight.

⭐I love the contrast of the sandstone lit up with the shade in the lower part. I used the same new lens as yesterday's pic and on lightroom the detail on the building is amazing (doesn't translate to my exported jpg though).

➡️ I need to learn if I can do anything to counter the effects of file compression.

Red sandstone tenements on the corner of Cresswell Street and Cranworth Street in the Hillhead area of Glasgow.

Love this doorway on Southpark Avenue in the West End of Glasgow. It's part of Gildard and Macfarlane's 1850s Belgrave Terrace which I featured earlier today, but while the entrances on the main facade facing Great Western Road are relatively plain, this one is much more decorative.

The terminal pavilion of Belgrave Terrace in the Hillead area of Glasgow. Designed by Gildard and Macfarlane, it was built in 1856. I really like how the windows are different, but complimentary, on each floor of this townhouse.

42. Somewhere...

🧠 The turquoise and gold building is really eye catching and originally I intended it to be more of a side-by-side with the grey Hillhead Library building. I decided to crop and focus more on the Nico building with intriguing stuff going on at the end of the alleyway between the two.

⭐ I like how the colours of the building look and really stand out.

➡️ I was lucky to get the road as empty as it was but it's a bit annoying that that car is where it is!

A terrace of 1850s townhouses on Southpark Avenue in the Hillhead area of Glasgow. These buildings are now part of Glasgow University which moved into the area in 1870.

A rather unusual version of the symbols from the Glasgow Coat of Arms outside Hillhead Primary School in the city's West End. Top to bottom they are the bird, the fish, the bell and the tree.

1860s terraced townhouse on Southpark Avenue in the Hillhead area of Glasgow. I love the shape of the oriel window on these buildings, which repeats along the whole terrace.

Early morning sunlight streaming through the upper windows of T.L. Watson's 1883 Hillhead Baptist Church in the West End of Glasgow. While it looks pretty, this can only happen because its roof was removed several years ago, leaving this B-listed building open to the elements, and decaying.

I love this sculpture on a wall at the junction of Byres Road and University Avenue in West End of Glasgow. Created in 1993 by Michelle de Bruin and Callum Sinclair, this is the first time I've seen it lit up in a very long time. Known locally as the Sun and Moon Clock, I've always known it (possibly incorrectly) as the Eclipse as it appears to depict a solar eclipse, with the central part representing totality.
