103. Giraffe

🧠 This taxidermy giraffe always seems like the boss among the other animals on show in Kelvingrove Museum.

⭐ I like the detail in the skin and the separation between subject and background, which I had to work on a bit, especially colouring.

➡️I think the angle possibly looks better using the wall on the left to align but then that crops out more of the giraffe!

🧠 I loved this view taking in the Science Centre as well as Glasgow uni in the background.

⭐ I think the sky looks beautiful and I didn't edit it separately this time.

➡️I wonder if it would look better it I had the uni tower more central between the two science centre buildings.

101. Bird (Almost) On a Wire

🧠 There's often a wood pigeon sitting on this pole I see out my back window and it looks like they're controlling everything!

⭐ I did quite a bit in editing to make the bird and pole stand out a bit against what was quite a distracting background.

➡️It's a bit dull overall...

100. Statue of Light and Life

🧠 This was when I went to look around Scotland Street School (not knowing it's covered in scaffolding) an saw this view when I wandered a bit and looked the other direction. I thought it was interesting seeing this grand building cut across by motorway bridges.

⭐i tried hard to make the building stand out a bit with editing and thinmk I did an OK job.

➡️Next time I'd try with slower shutter on a tripod to get more motion blue on passing cars.

99. Purple Pitcher

🧠 I liked the pink and green here.

⭐It's cropped just enough to see the hair-like things on the main plant but also see some of the greenery. And you can see my reflection in the water!

➡️I wanted to make more of a feature of the reflection inside the plant.

98. More Reflections

🧠 The main building here is a primary school built just over a decade ago. I like how they matched the colour with the red sandstone of the surrounding buildings and how the mirrored glass allows them to be reflected.

⭐I think the composition works well showing the reflection of buildings across the road alongside the modern facade, interrupted by the little library space.

➡️ I didn't intend to get a person in the shot but thought this passerby made it interesting - just wish I hadn't cut off her feet!

97. Terrace

🧠 The Boyd Orr building (part of Glasgow uni) in the background is another 60s building I really like. I think the contrast with the Victorian terrace here (Ashton Road) is really striking.

⭐I think the composition is good (played about with cropping quite a bit) and colour looks good.

➡️ Maybe I should've cropped out the slither of hedge and handrails at the bottom.

96. Sky, Robot

🧠 (The punny title was J's idea). I think the Science Centre Tower looks like some kind of robot overseeing smaller ones (lampposts)

⭐I love the simple colours. I thought it might be nice in black and white but it looks better with the blue of the sky.

➡️ There's nothing standing out to me that needs fixed but I'd welcome suggestions.

95. Hillhead Library

🧠 They're not everyone's taste but I love the odd 60s/70s building scattered among the much older architecture in Glasgow. I especially like the really simple relief sculpture above the entrance here.

⭐I like the symmetry and simplicity. I almost made it black and white but preferred having the little pops of colour on the people.

➡️I think this could look busier with more people. The street is really busy with pedestrians a lot of the time so I could have got a shot with more if I'd had that in mind.

🧠 I loved this spiny red flower, especially against the green background.
