Der Landsitz der Familie #Boleyn stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Anne Boleyn, die zweite Frau von Heinrich dem VIII. (ihr wisst schon, der mit den vielen Frauen), verbrachte einen Teil ihrer Kindheit hier. Seit 1383 war das #Schloss im Besitz von zwรถlf verschiedenen Familien, die alle irgendwie daran rumgefrickelt haben. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde es von William Waldorf Astor, dem damals reichsten Mann Amerikas, gekauft und teils originalgetreu restauriert und teils fantasievoll erweitert, vor allem die Gartenanlagen. Vom mittelalterlichen Original ist zwar nicht mehr viel รผbrig geblieben, aber Hever Castle und vor allem seine Schlossgรคrten sind trotzdem wunderschรถn und sehr empfehlenswert. Ein Tagesausflug von London aus ist super machbar, sogar mit Kindern.

The country seat of the Boleyn family dates back to the 13th century. Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII (you know, the one with the many wives), spent part of her childhood here. Since 1383, twelve different families have owned the #castle, each leaving their mark on the estate. In the early 20th century, William Waldorf Astor, the richest man in America at the time, purchased the castle. He undertook significant restoration and expansion, carefully preserving the original medieval structure while adding his own architectural and landscaping vision. Though little of the original medieval structure remains, the castle and especially its gardens are truly stunning. If you're in London and have a day to spare, #Hever Castle makes for a fantastic day trip (even with kids)!
