#Boleyn stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Anne Boleyn, die zweite Frau von Heinrich dem VIII. (ihr wisst schon, der mit den vielen Frauen), verbrachte einen Teil ihrer Kindheit hier. Seit 1383 war das
#Schloss im Besitz von zwölf verschiedenen Familien, die alle irgendwie daran rumgefrickelt haben. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde es von William Waldorf Astor, dem damals reichsten Mann Amerikas, gekauft und teils originalgetreu restauriert und teils fantasievoll erweitert, vor allem die Gartenanlagen. Vom mittelalterlichen Original ist zwar nicht mehr viel übrig geblieben, aber Hever Castle und vor allem seine Schlossgärten sind trotzdem wunderschön und sehr empfehlenswert. Ein Tagesausflug von London aus ist super machbar, sogar mit Kindern.
