This tiny beauty is Fernella the #nestFern. 💚 I simply couldn't resist adding her to my office. She might move to the bathroom in the summer if it gets too warm by the window though.

This week's episode of #Farnsehen features the first glimpse of my new co-star, #DryopterisAtrata.
I spotted it in a (different) garden centre this week, and though I'd only popped in for Easter gift cards, I couldn't resist bringing this little rascal home. Insta meet-cute, if you will. The label called it a #shaggyShieldFern. Sadly, it's not native to Europe, but just look at that adorable furly-curly #fiddlehead! 🥹
In German, it's known as the "elephant trunk fern", so I've named mine Elliot. 🐘 Elliot looks a bit sad in their new home at the moment (probably because the nights are still rather chilly), but I'm sure they'll grow (🤭) to love it here. The spot should be just right.
I also messed around with the frame options in Snapseed. Not entirely sold on the result, but Elliot was cool with it. 🤷‍♀️

#TIL Anogramma leptophylla, "jersey fern" delightful little things, just a few cm high, clinging-on in crevices in many places in the dry stone walls here. All appeared in the last few days. The lone curvy specimen I like more, but leaning-out into the sun, the photo's overexposed there. So a rather more busy little melée too.
