Skyward Bound
This tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor), its small crest lifted like a banner, grips the edge of the bird feeder as it pushes off into the air with a sunflower seed clenched firmly in its beak. A warm wash of rufous coloring shows along its flanks and lower back, standing out against the soft gray of its wings and head.
Tufted titmice are a favorite among a select group of bird enthusiasts. To celebrate these charming creatures, I’ve curated a special collection dedicated entirely to them in my photo gallery. Take a look!

It's so nice to see the Pine Warblers back in south Jersey! Got out for the first time in months today and had some luck. Looking forward to more. Happy spring!

Machen wir es uns mal gemütlich.
A #CommonBuzzard cutting through a hard blue sky.
Then the frame tightens and the bare trees start pushing back.
Same bird, different tension, in #Spaarnwoude Park.
Open sky or the tree line frame?
