Some #art and sophistication for today's #TongueOutTuesday and #Toothday, if you will. 🧐 These #sculptures adorn the #Zwinger Palace in #Dresden. There are loads of #statues and sculptures here, each uniquely expressive, so you'll be seeing more of them at some point. 😅
Of course, most have been restored, but around 150 of the 500 sculptures on the façades and roofs of the palatial complex are originals, making them 300 years old (though not these gentlemen).

🇫🇷 Statue du prophète (Jérémie) levant les bras au ciel réalisée en bronze par la sculptrice Hildegard Bienen (1925-1990) posée sur un socle où est inscrit un demi verset du psaume 62 (63) : "Zu dir Herr will ich meine Hände erheben - Ps. 63" (J'élèverai mes mains en ton nom - traduction Segond).

🇬🇧 Statue of the prophet (Jeremiah) raising his arms to the sky made in bronze by the sculptor Hildegard Bienen (1925-1990) placed on a base where half a verse from Psalm 62 (63) can be read : "Zu dir Herr will ich meine Hände erheben - Ps. 63" (in your name I will lift up my hands. - New International Version).

A pint-sized stone chappie in pilgrim attire, in the 1950s the Galician Centre was in the square and had an area that recorded the pilgrims who did the Camino Santiago.

The lady sat behind gives a sense of scale of how small he is 😅

🇫🇷 Le Buste de Karl Marx dans sa maison natale à Trier (Trèves-DE) qui est aussi un musée à ne pas manquer si vous veniez à visiter cette ville aux multiples vestiges romains antiques.

Ce que j'ai retenu de cette visite faite il y a longtemps déjà : c'est que la pensée de Marx a été (et est toujours) dévoyée par des dictateurs sanguinaires qui maintenaient (maintiennent) les peuples dans l'asservissement alors qu'une élite vivait (vit) dans l’opulence toute occidentale! (Opinion personnelle)

🇬🇧 The Bust of Karl Marx in his birthplace in Trier (DE) which is also a must seen museum if you come to visit the city where many ancient Roman remains can be seen.

What I learned from this visit made a long time ago: it is that Marx's thought was (and still is) misguided by bloodthirsty dictators who kept (maintain) people in enslavement while an elite lived (lives) in entirely Western opulence! (my opinion)
