@pattykimura @sgt1372 In real life and by mail, it was Asian and those who now call themselves #Hapa I loved, who first distanced or completely ghosted me.
I remember overhearing the parents and grandparents of my Pinoy and Spanish speaking neighbors caution against spending too much time with me because I was too dark skinned.
That memory of that distant past is still painful, because today so many still think that way.
Gave midjourney a try - Uploaded a portrait & asked for an urban, scifi-fantasy, motorcycle style. It def gets really confused about where to place lil #hapa #mixedrace me.
While getting confusion about my race is pretty common, how cleary that confusions is being articulated here is pretty interesting.

I just realized an older friend with whom I've lost touch may be Jena Choctaw. I'd love to see the Choctaw nation stand up a Mastodon instance to encourage more Choctaw on this open platform. Perhaps I'd run across my old friend again. 🙂
