Goulet Pens has a 30% off sale on Lamy products this weekend. I ordered a black Lamy Al-star fountain pen with a Fine nib and also an extra black Lamy steel Medium nib.
I'm still not a fountain pen collector but it's fine to have a few "entry level" fountain pens with different nibs, right? (Having a second Lamy Al-star will help me troubleshoot the issue my first one is having too, or at least let me switch bodies for different looks.)
It's difficult to be a Christian, because we are supposed to share our faith with others, not hide it away.
Then someone comes along, who claims to be a Christian, but makes statements or engages in behavior that damage the testimony of every Christian.
Brian and Rachel's message about this is spot-on: they are about love and inclusiveness, and NOT about hate and judgment.
The church leader who made his statements on some podcast has damaged all our testimony.
When you bring your private life into the public sphere, you open it up to public critique. When you discuss your personal life in business documents to your customers, those become connected.
"Making business personal" is a double edged sword. It makes it easier for customers to feel connected, but you risk that goodwill souring.
No one would know (or care) about the Goulets' church if they didn't mention it in their newsletter to customers. But they did, now we do.

I was surprised to receive a replacement Monteverde Ritma Espresso from Goulet before I send back the defective pen. And it’s working quite well. The cap even caps smoothly and doesn’t have a ridiculous vacuum/suction when uncapping. No scratches on the section, and the cap doesn’t seem like it will scratch against the section. The one I received previously must’ve been really off in a few ways.
