It occurs to me that I could try out ink in a variety of nib sizes by getting several nib units for a Majohn/Moonman Wancai and just swapping the nibs without having to empty the pen. One half fill of the barrel of a clear Wancai would give a good look at how the ink behaves in various nibs without having to clean and refill an entire pen in each nib size. I currently have a set of Jinhao 51a in acrylic for daily use testing, but it takes ages to empty them, whether by using or by washing.

I don't actually like Wancais very much for daily use, because they're a bit fatter than I find comfortable to hold, but I may have had a slight shopping accident on AliExpress involving needing something to bring a basket over a minimum spend and there being a sale on a specific colour.

I went to the Kunstmuseum in The Hague. I'm still sad they did a rebranding. The old name Gemeentemuseum, fitted the style of the architect Berlage much better. Anyway, the exhibition, London Calling was very nice. A few paintings from various famous painters, Freud, Bacon, Hockney, but I liked this lesser known Female artist, Fisher the best. Interesting how ink and paper can make a difference. Moleskine notebooks have paper that doesn’t seem to be very fountain pen friendly. Which really shows when you’re using it with a huge gushing nib like in the Pelikan M1000.
Also the Pelikan Edelstein inks seem to be quite ‘wet’. Yes, it surprised me too, but there are wet and dry inks.
I bought a new notebook, a De Kempen, and two bottles of Pelikan 4001 ink, which are much drier.
