Swatched all my Iroshizuku inks and got all the Diamine swatches scanned and photographed.

Scans are great, but as usual fail to show a significant amount of the ink behavior like sheen/shimmer well. Similar story with photographs in the light tent. The light being so even, it's hard to get good reflections. So I used a handheld light panel and different angles. Between both it should be plenty.

Editing all of those should keep me busy

was testing a bunch of nibs (the ones for dip pens) recently. these are mostly from a cheapo set which came with a nib holder, only the owl’s sketched with Leonardt Principal EF. The ink’s Diamine Canalside.

aye, am capable only of such doodles as of recently. wish i could create huger artworks, but for now am happy i can do at least this.

Anyone have any good tips for flattening out ink swatch cards? Other than "stick them in a book and wait a few days"?

I have a stack of older ones smashed between some wood blocks and clamps right now which I'm hoping might be OK. I don't have a book press or anyplace to store one, but that also seemed like a promising option.

Most general methods for paper flattening involve moisture and heat, and I doubt the moisture part would play well with water-based inks.

Spent the entire evening swatching all 13 of my Diamine inks that I hadn't swatched yet. 3 swatch cards + chromatography strip for all of them, which took quite a lot of time between that and cleaning between inks.

No photos/scans yet as I'm letting them all dry at least overnight. Not sure how I'm going to handle them still.

Might tackle my Iroshizukus tomorrow.

this guy’s prolly gonna become my OC as i kinda really like him. ‘tis a zombie coyote or something like that, a random thing i drew one night. i tried to make the lines uneven, messy, ragged and distressed, to make it look kinda fuzzy or shaky, dunno how to even describe that lol.
i've no idea how to draw coyotes, am not even savvy in drawing canidae in general...
