I'm planning on writing some more about tech on a new site soon: My first series is going to be called "To the forge!" and will be an exploration of different #git forges like #gitlab, @forgejo, or #gittea.
Only one small query: Where do I start? Does anyone know of any good resources for self-hosting a forge an what that entails? Thanks!

lol @forgejo (based on #GitTea (based on #Gogs)) (hosted on @Codeberg) has more features than #GitHub in some areas.
Very cool that @Codeberg is working on @forgejo. I am intending to move over to self-hosting after federation functionality is complete; in the meantime, I can't expect everyone who wants to contribute to my repos to sign up for an account and check it manually for notifications (since I didn't set up an email service).
Apparently #CodeBerg is run like a #coop too! 25 euros a year for optional voting membership.
@alexstandiford Hi Alex. Thanks for sharing this. 🤛 That's something I also am looking about. I will check #GitTea out asap. Since I am digging into #distributed web stuff I also found a version based on #P2p and Secure Scuttlebutt #SSB. You might want to check it out. I had not much time to look at it, but sure will do.
