I'm a Software Engineer, working daily on backends, but in my free time I like to delve into everything, from CLIs to frontend. I am also really passionate about #privacy, #CyberSecurity, #Linux, #RustLang and everything #gaming.

Other interests I have are: #science, #art, #space, #languages, #solarpunk, #music and more things I fail to remember. Feels like there's always something else to research and/or be passionate about, which I love doing!

🚫📡🔐Mission: No mass scanning, no backdoors!

I just saw this on a laptop at the @bsidesnova conference...

Ads.

On the lockscreen.

How. How do people live like this? Like seriously. Inundated by ads. I mean, not just the tracking and surveillance behind it... but blatant ads everywhere.

They PAY microsoft to show them ads on their lockscreen.

Remember adware? That would gum up your browsers in the early aughts? Like... that was considered malware at the time and removed by antivirus.

Can you turn this off? Is this a third party widget or something?

What....

Even butterflies are losing their colours as forests are replaced by monocultures.

Without protection for native habitats, the most vibrant species could vanish.

It is not too late. In forests allowed to recover, colour and life return.

On my way back home now. @eurorust was a awesome, as usual. 👍 So many great talks, got to learn about so many cool projects and people, and had so many great discussions with awesome folks.

Cherry on top, got #codspeed setup for @zbus on the impl day (thanks to @darthb) so not only we've some cool graphs for each PR, we now auto-detect (possible) performance regressions **before** the PR is merged rather than after:

easy to overlook a big advantage of mastodon over other platforms: you can very easily use the name for puns. Posting about going to the red planet? Marstodon. Excited about noodle dishes? Pastadon. Trumpet enthusiast? Hashtag Brasstodon.

This second September release brings a redesigned route planning screen and the ability to view OpenStreetMap `description` tag contents for iOS users. To discover places that have this tag, type `?description` in the search box (similar to typing `?wiki` for Wikipedia-linked places).

There are also many fixes and improvements on both iOS and Android, see https://organicmaps.app/news/2025-09-15/440/ for more details and hints.
