Indeed, SFC's position is #GiveUpGithub, but N.B. the https://giveupgithub.com/ site itself admits most people will uses it & suggests a “using Github under protest” README.md.
I use proprietary software every day. I've been convinced for ≥ 10yrs: one can't succeed in an industrialized nation at *anything* w/out sometimes doing so.
The difficulty is figuring out when to compromise. I remain open-minded.
Few of us will be FOSS monks.
I still hope folks will instead #GiveUpGithub (& promote the idea of doing so) rather than making cascading compromises with #Microsoft's #GitHub.
Note the additional suggestion on that site: if you do use GitHub & can't switch, there are suggestions on that site on how to draw attention to the issues while still using their platform under protest.
Frankly it's just “SFC Staff” who conceived and launched the #GiveUpGithub.
I think it'd be great if you just submit a talk and know you have our support.
I'm not involved with #FOSSY details but I suspect your talk would be well received by reviewers.
I'd be glad to see you there.
Our hosted #renovate bot now runs via the mogenius/renovate-operator (https://github.com/mogenius/renovate-operator).
This enables webhook-based support, i.e. clicking the checkboxes in the renovate dashboard and PR actions now have an effect!
