Today we start the subject: "Crime mapping," which is the last subject of the master's degree in Criminology at UCA. For analysis and visualizations free and open source software will be used: #QGIS and #Geoda.

The more I read, study, and do research, the more I feel like spatial statistics should become a major focus for me.

Luckily there are plenty of awesome online resources available for it completely free. #PySAL docs, Geographic Data Science book, #GeoDA docs.

But there's this one book coming up. Spatial Analysis in the Social Sciences. It's apparently a 560-page chonker but hoooooooo boy, gotta have that!

What's up, new to Mastodon and federated social media in general.

I'm a #linux user both at home and at work. Switched over in early 2019. Manjaro and a weeeeird in-house Ubuntu spin. I am a geographer and use FOSS software like #QGIS, #PostGIS and #GeoDa, but also the whole geopython suite. Currently I'm doing research for my PhD.
