Vier Menschen mit Gehstützen und Begleitperson – das war schon ein nicht alltäglicher Anblick im vergangenen November. Vielleicht wird das aber auch demnächst Trend. Immerhin blieben hier zuletzt wochenlang viele Gehwege vereist, weil nur halbherzig oder gar nicht geräumt wurde.

Four people with crutches and an accompanying person—that was quite an unusual sight last November. But perhaps it will soon become a trend. After all, many sidewalks here remained icy for weeks because they were only cleared half-heartedly or not at all.

Der #FotoMontag ist eine gute Gelegenheit, eine weitere Serie vorzustellen. Seit einer Weile habe ich immer mal wieder Fotos mit Einkaufswagen gemacht. Mal an ungewöhnlichen Orten, mal irgendwie interessant abgestellt oder auch wie hier fotogen beleuchtet. Die ersten Fotos entstanden spontan und auch jetzt gehe ich nicht gerade los, um mal Einkaufswagen zu fotografieren. 🤪 Aber der Blick ist nun natürlich für die Serie geschärft.

#PhotoMonday is a good opportunity to present another series. For a while now, I've been taking photos of shopping carts every now and then. Sometimes in unusual places, sometimes parked in interesting ways, or, as here, illuminated in a photogenic way. The first photos were taken spontaneously, and even now I don't exactly go out looking for shopping carts to photograph. 🤪 But of course, my eye is now sharpened for the series.

Setz das Objektiv direkt auf die Glasscheibe, dann hast du keine störenden Reflexionen. Viel Spaß dann mit der Bearbeitung, falls du weitwinklig fotografierst und durch Neigung der Scheibe und/oder außermittigen Standpunkt nicht in der Flucht bist. Die Korrektur der perspektivische Verzerrung war hier ziemlich aufwändig und das Ergebnis ist nicht perfekt – schaut auf die Schwellen im Vordergrund. In den meisten Fällen reichte die Fotos-App von iOS bisher dafür aus – hier kam sie an ihre Grenzen.

Place the lens directly on the glass pane to avoid annoying reflections. Have fun editing if you're shooting with a wide angle and are not in alignment due to the tilt of the pane and/or off-center position. Correcting the perspective distortion was quite time-consuming here, and the result is not perfect—take a look at the railroad ties in the foreground. In most cases, the iOS Photos app has been sufficient for this task, but here it reached its limits.

Wenn man ein Archiv der eigenen Fotos aufbaut und sich öfter damit beschäftigt, fallen einem nicht nur wiederkehrende Themen auf. Manchmal sind es auch einzelne Fotos mit zufälligen Ähnlichkeiten und Zusammenhängen. Hier ist mal ein Beispiel: zwei Garagen, zweimal rot und weiß, zweimal Streifen und zwei runde Schilder.

When you build up an archive of your own photos and look at them often, you notice not only recurring themes, but sometimes also individual photos with random similarities and connections. Here's an example: two garages, red and white twice, stripes twice, and round signs twice.

Zum #FotoMontag zeige ich hier ein weiteres Foto aus meiner kleinen #Angekuppelt Serie. 2025 fuhr die Rostocker S-Bahn längere Zeit wegen Bauarbeiten nur halbstündlich, dafür aber in Doppeltraktion. Hier ist einer der beiden Triebwagen derjenige mit der historischen Sonderlackierung zum 50. Jubiläum 2024. Da dieser tatsächlich nur zur Hälfte anders lackiert ist, hatte ich zudem noch Glück, dass diese Hälfte innen war und sich so zwei verschiedenfarbige Triebköpfe gegenüberstanden. Die Lackierung von 1982 war in Meerblau und Birkengrau mit ockerbraunem Dach und war den Farben von Meer, Land und Strand nachempfunden. Zwei weitere Fotos zeigen den Zug und einen Ausschnitt mit dem Jubiläumslogo.

For #PhotoMonday, I'm showing another photo from my little #Coupled series. In 2025, due to construction work, the Rostock S-Bahn only ran every half hour for a long time, but with double traction. One of the two railcars is the one with the historic special paint job for the 50th anniversary in 2024. Since only half of it is painted differently, I was also lucky that this half was on the inside, so that two different-colored railcars were facing each other. The 1982 paint scheme was sea blue and birch gray with an ochre brown roof, inspired by the colors of the sea, land, and beach. Two more photos show the train and a detail with the anniversary logo.
