A decently warm & partly sunny afternoon for a 53km ride, with some pretty sunset colours over #Heidelberg & the Neckar on the way home 🌞👍

Two contrasting cycling experiences today:
Riding my bicycle to the station, a massive dump truck passed me so close that a man walking past held up his finger and thumb about 1 cm apart to me to show me the margin of error.
On the way back, I rode over Thessin's bridge, where some children had stripped down to their underwear and were alternating between swimming in the estuary, or baking themselves, stretched out on the cycle path while their dogs ran in and out of the water.
It looked so good.
As late autumn weather is unpredictable, you have to get your rides in when you can 🤷♂️
Hence a Wednesday afternoon 48km cycle to Ladenburg & back: cold at +5°C down to +2°C by the end, but little wind & no precipitation.
Downside: lots of evening commuters rushing to get home 😬✌️

For folks who might be interested, I’ll be doing a presentation on Monday December 1 to @kwlug — the Kitchener-Waterloo Linux User Group. It’ll be about how we use OpenStreetMap data for maps and routing in the @CyclingGuide mobile app. The presentation session is hybrid, meaning folks in Waterloo Region can attend in person if they want to. I’ll be presenting remotely, though, making it easy for any remote attendees to join the fun. It's free, and all are welcome 😀🚴🏼♀️❤️
(The presentation before mine looks like fun too.)
First bike with a seatpost wedge clamp, and this video helped me a *lot*: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dm2wJutGaY
