Fishing for MomentsHier war es jetzt länger ziemlich ruhig. Eine Mischung aus Arbeit, Reisen und familiären Verpflichtungen hielt mich davon ab. Fotografiert habe ich aber – vor allem während der Reisen. Und die Fotos wollen endlich auch gezeigt werden!
Während eines Kurzurlaubs in Hessen stand auch Frankfurt auf dem Programm. Mittags war ich mit Freunden bei „Through the eyes of Saul Leiter“ in der Leica Galerie. Nach ein paar Stunden allein in der Stadt konnte ich mich abends einer Gruppe zum Foto-Walk anschließen. Besonders am Anfang haben die anderen mehr geredet als fotografiert und das Tempo war recht hoch. Ich habe die Eile als Herausforderung angenommen und war am Ende über etwa 10 brauchbare Fotos erstaunt.
Dieser historische Eisenbahnwagon steht im ehemaligen Hafenbereich am nördlichen Mainufer in der Nähe des EZB-Gebäudes. Technisch gesehen ist das Bild ziemlich missglückt: der Fokus liegt bei Offenblende auf dem eher nebensächlichen Prellbock. Aber ich mag diesen eingefangenen Augenblick, diese mehr als flüchtige Begegnung vor einem Relikt der Vergangenheit. Woher kommt die eigenartige Armhaltung? Ich glaube, der junge Mann stand auf einem eScooter. Und ich mag auch das Rendering in den unscharfen Bereichen und die Farben, die die Fuji hier mit Classic Negative abliefert.
Things have been pretty quiet around here for a while now. A mix of work, travel, and family obligations kept me from posting. But I have been taking photos—especially while traveling. And those photos finally deserve to be seen!
During a short vacation in Hesse, Frankfurt was also on the itinerary. At noon, I met up with friends at “Through the Eyes of Saul Leiter” at the Leica Gallery. After a few hours alone in the city, I joined a group for a photo walk in the evening. Especially at the beginning, the others talked more than they took photos, and the pace was pretty fast. I took the rush as a challenge and was surprised to end up with about 10 usable photos.
This historic railroad car is located in the former port area on the northern bank of the Main River, near the ECB building. Technically speaking, the photo is pretty much a failure: at wide-open aperture, the focus is on the rather inconsequential buffer stop. But I like this captured moment, this more-than-fleeting encounter in front of a relic of the past. Where does that peculiar arm position come from? I think the young man was standing on an e-scooter. And I also like the rendering in the out-of-focus areas and the colors that the Fuji delivers here with Classic Negative.
