On the way back to Glasgow from Irvine Beach this afternoon, I passed this church lit beautifully by rays of the setting sun. It's the Riccarton Parish Church on Old Street in Kilmarnock and it was built in 1823 on Court Hill, the seat of the judicial executive for the area in feudal times. It's one of only two surviving structures from the old village of Riccarton.
