*edit, I should have mentioned, I prefer an android app, or even desktop that uses DLSR photos ... but iphone is always something I can look into.

Rounding out quite a busy day with an oddly complex little @FreeCAD job. I was going to use the McMaster Carr step file for these 1/2" schedule 40 90 degree elbows but then read their prohibitive license so just redrawn them after a little head scratching about how to do it (It's 2 additive pipes with the inner ones section drawn on a datum plane). #FreeCAD #CAD

Shafts fitted and aligned, 100 string hedge loops tied for a simple test scarf, Reed has a pitch of 5 threads per cm, the whole Reed is 420 threads (not planned), and had these thick card packing support angle beams perfect for the roller thingys. :) 3D printed parts designed in @FreeCAD

Been a while since I've used FreeCAD, but every time I'm blown away by how much better it is! This is probably one of the most geometrically complicated shapes I've made and took a few tries at different things, but got there in the end. Only problem is that it has to be printed in metal- not quite as cheap as I thought it was going to be.

The upcoming #Trisquel 12 is based on #Ubuntu 24.04, which didn't get a #FreeCAD package as it had fallen out of #Debian Testing at the time. I've fixed this issue for the Trisquel release, pulling in the FreeCAD package from Ubuntu 24.10, unfortunately still the 0.21 version of FreeCAD, but at least it'll be available!
