Any strawberry doctors out there? My fruit are developing lesions before ripening so I'm wondering whether I might have Alternaria, Botrytis, and/or Colletotrichum. Ants are quick to the scene but I don't think they are causing the problem. Raised bed in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. It's also been hot and muggy but in past years that hasn't prevented a good crop. #strawberries #fragaria #garden #gardening #fruit #disease #pathology #fungi #fungus

I'd read on the internet that strawberry runners severed from their source plant won't be able to root. Of course I had to test that claim. Worked fine. #strawberry #fragaria #propagation #plants #fruit #gardening #vegetative

Not much, because I left it a little late and the mice and other animals got in there first, but for 5 minutes worth of effort, maximum reward! These wild strawberries grow in all the shady parts of our garden, which is also pretty convenient when it is over 30°C outside!
