Financial engineering on steroids, or is it simply circular financing?

Investors are being lured to invest in loans secured against graphics processing units and backed by leases to Tech groups, and the Tech groups then shift debt off their balance sheets.

The loans are often engineered by special-purpose vehicles formed by tech companies and investment firms for the purpose of acquiring a cache of high-performing chips, which are then leased to the tech businesses to train their AI models. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ai-arms-race-heats-startups-230146272.html #GPUs #Loans #Financing #AI #DataCenters #Financing #Leasing #FinancialEngineering #AITraiing #LLMs

IMHO - This has nothing to do with "space based AI" ... last I checked the sun shines on the earth's surface too...

This is financial engineering so Musk can:

1) fund his money losing and bloated valuation xAI with TAXPAYER $$$ >> aka funnel $ from SpaceX to keep xAI going.
2) mask Tesla and Twitter/X's declining values and poor results so they are less visible to investors who keep plowing $$ into these meme stocks.
3) continue his massive game of 3 card monte - look here, no look over here, no look over here.

FYI - estimates are that SpaceX gets 70-80 % of its revenue from contracts with the U.S. Gov. and DoD. Exact #'s are impossible to get - SpaceX is still a private company.

Count me as also being in the WTF club on this one! SpaceX exploring merging with xAI??????

"The value, timing, and primary rationale of any potential deal could not be determined."

Some commentators suggest that Musk is spreading himself out much too thin these days, therefore consolidation is possibly a good thing. This feels like some kinda convoluted financial engineering stunt, and if true, the only winner(s) will be Musk and a few select leaders @ SpaceX and/or xAI. https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20260130VL209/spacex-xai-tesla-merger-ipo.html #SpaceX #xAI #Merger #Acquisition #FinancialEngineering #AI #Space #IPO #Investors #Investing #Equity

Your job is at risk from AI — but not for the reasons you think. Can you say dot-com bubble?

The current exuberance in AI and related stocks in the U.S., writes Jim Sanford, is reminiscent of the tech crash in 2001. Can you say dot-com bubble?

@drahardja Finally, #Tesla introducing a refresh. When was the last major redesign, the the Model S? This refresh took 4 years. Wherever all their money is going, it’s not R&D. And they think a janky ass robot is going to save the company? Wtf? Are #TSLA #shareholders all suffering from brain damage? I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some #financialengineering going on, as well.

deep dive into the financial engineering at work in Michael Saylor's not-technically-fraudulent "strategy" of borrowing billions of dollars to buy #Bitcoin via his company #Microstrategy.

And yes, if you're wondering, Microstrategy is the same company Saylor committed accounting fraud with while he was CEO of back in the dotcom bubble and in the process set a record for most money lost by anyone in a single day that stood for almost two decades IIRC
