Genre: sci fi psychological thriller
It's about a dinner party the night a comet is passing by Earth. Then, things get weird.
I didn't know this film existed until about 8 years after it was released. I think it's great. It's a cast of unknowns in a film with a fairly original plot. It will continue to build steam as a cult film.
My only recommendation is that you don't read up on it or watch trailers. Let the film tell its story.
What’s the film genre/name?
I like films where there is a need to build/make/fix something, like The Martian, I particularly enjoy an inspiring montage so even something like Pacific Rim makes me happy (now that sounds a bit like a euphemism!)
I’ve been known to watch a film I know up to the point of said montage and then not bother with that rest.
I’d be up for suggestions of what this sort of theme is called and suggestions of films to watch.
