One advantage to growing up in the #ChurchOfChrist is that #Christmas has always been a secular holiday (except when it gave the #COC a chance to bitch about the #WarOnChristmas ofc).

I was journaling about being raised in the #ChurchOfChrist and the #cultish tendencies of the congregations I attended.
I'm still really fucking proud of the time they literally had to bar the doors to keep me out of the business meeting ('cause I'm AFAB).
That's when I stopped tithing, which was a whole other drama that almost got me disfellowshipped (as a teenager) over $1/week.
Wild.
Shout out to everyone who can't drink grape juice without thinking, "this tastes like Jesus."
