"I'll Fly Away"(#Roud 18437) is a hymn written in 1929 by #AlbertEBrumley and published in 1932 by the Hartford Music company in a collection titled Wonderful Message. Brumley's writing was influenced by the 1924 secular #ballad "#ThePrisonersSong". "#IllFlyAway" has been called the most recorded #gospel song. It is frequently used in worship services by #Baptists, #Pentecostals, #Nazarenes, the #ChurchesOfChrist and many Presbyterians and #Methodists.

I appreciate this coverage from the religious tradition of my youth about an important issue, the harm done by churches that discriminate on the basis of martial status.

Of course, fails to address the bigger elephant in the room, the exclusion of women from the pulpit.
