I was really disappointed about the NIH funding cut - this project is important for both dog and human health. As Dr Kaeberlein points out, it's also great in terms of public relations for geoscience and science in general.

Very disappointed to learn The Dog Aging Project will probably lose its NIA funding.

Dogs live with humans and so have similar environmental exposures. They also have cancer rates that are comparable or exceed those of humans.

I hope private funding* continues the project. (*not from the pet food industry)
