Social front: Mody Guiro threatens to break the stability pact on March 12

Speaking on the program "En Vérité" on Radio Senegal, Guiro reiterated that the social stability pact, signed nearly a year ago, aimed to ease social tensions. He specified that the unions have, to date, respected their commitment to prioritizing stability.</p><p><br></p><p> However, certain situations, particularly layoffs, risk reigniting tensions. According to him, the unions have been too patient and are now expecting concrete answers from the government. "We have been very patient and we have kept our word. But this is too much," he declared.</p><p><br></p><p> The Secretary General of the CNTS also announced that the labor unions will hold a press conference on March 12, 2026, to unveil their action plan. This plan could include a general strike.
