LA NOTIZIA: Mattarella sostituisce Meloni e avverte Herzog: condanna a Israele su guerra, Flotilla e attacchi a Unifil
Il governo resta immobile e in silenzio e allora ci pensa il presidente della Repubblica, Sergio Mattarella, a incalzare ufficialmente Israele. Lo fa in un colloquio telefonico con il presidente israeliano, Isaac Herzog, definito da fonti del Quirinale “franco e aperto”. Un linguaggio che, nella diplomazia, lascia intendere che il confronto è stato tutt’altro che morbido.
Il capo dello Stato è intervenuto, secondo quanto si apprende, su diversi punti su cui la tensione con Tel Aviv è alta: dalla guerra in Medio Oriente al rispetto del diritto della navigazione, con chiaro riferimento all’abbordaggio israeliano alle navi della Flotilla. E non manca un richiamo agli attacchi contro le truppe del contingente Unifil.
La telefonata tra Mattarella e Herzog
Mattarella ha ricevuto in serata una telefonata da Herzog, un colloquio come detto “franco”. Il presidente della Repubblica ha infatti sottolineato l’urgente necessità di abbandonare in Medio Oriente lo stato di guerra permanente. Non solo, perché Mattarella ha anche dichiarato inaccettabili gli attacchi effettuati ai danni delle truppe Unifil.
Infine, un richiamo dal Quirinale nei confronti di Israele è arrivato anche su un altro fronte delicato, quello della Flotilla. Le fonti del Colle non fanno esplicito riferimento all’episodio dell’abbordaggio da parte di Tel Aviv, ma il riferimento è chiaro quando il presidente della Repubblica sottolinea la necessità di rispettare il diritto della navigazione nelle acque internazionali.
