AmSoc refuerza vínculos con Texas

Larry Rubin anunció la incorporación de Glenn Hamer a American Society of Mexico como vicepresidente.

El presidente de American Society of Mexico informó que Glenn Hamer se integró a su Consejo Directivo e indicó que la designación fortaleció los vínculos estratégicos entre Texas y México en materia de comercio bilateral.

Rubin precisó que Hamer, presidente y director general de la Texas Association of Business, radicaba en Austin. Señaló que desempeñó un papel clave en las relaciones empresariales entre México y Estados Unidos.

En conferencia de prensa, expuso que la presencia del directivo permitió reforzar la agenda de AmSoc en Texas. Subrayó que esa entidad concentraba cerca de una tercera parte del comercio bilateral y 85% del flujo fronterizo.

Encuentro bilateral en México

El presidente de AmSoc también informó que el 7 de octubre la organización recibiría a Chad Wolf. Precisó que el exsecretario interino de Seguridad Nacional de Estados Unidos participaría en un encuentro con líderes empresariales.

Wolf, quien encabezó la dependencia durante la administración del presidente Donald Trump, compartiría su experiencia sobre seguridad. En el evento se discutirían los desafíos de la cooperación bilateral contra el crimen organizado.

Rubin explicó que las conversaciones con Wolf buscaban profundizar en las prioridades de seguridad definidas desde Washington. Añadió que también se analizarían los impactos de esas políticas en la relación México–Estados Unidos.

Destacó que las pláticas servirían como base para proponer soluciones conjuntas frente a los retos comunes. Precisó que seguridad y comercio fueron considerados ejes inseparables dentro de la dinámica bilateral.

Misiones diplomáticas recientes

En otro punto, Rubin detalló que encabezó misiones diplomáticas en Washington D.C. en semanas recientes. Señaló que sostuvo reuniones con legisladores y funcionarios clave en el Capitolio estadounidense.

Durante los encuentros se discutieron temas relacionados con comercio, seguridad y cooperación fronteriza. Subrayó que esas acciones complementaron los esfuerzos del gobierno federal para brindar certidumbre a los sectores productivos.

El presidente de AmSoc indicó que los avances en materia de seguridad tuvieron relación directa con el comercio. Aseguró que la mejora en la lucha contra el crimen organizado generó confianza en inversionistas y socios.

Resaltó que la confianza fortaleció las negociaciones vinculadas al Tratado entre México, Estados Unidos y Canadá. Consideró que el proceso beneficiaría no solo a las tres naciones, sino también a la región de Norteamérica. –sn–

"Former top national security officials have told prosecutors and testified to a federal grand jury that they repeatedly told former President Donald Trump and his allies that the government didn’t have the authority to seize voting machines after the 2020 election, CNN has learned.

"Ken Cuccinelli, the former second in command at the Department of Homeland Security, was asked about discussions inside the administration around DHS seizing voting machines when he appeared before the grand jury earlier this year, according to three people familiar with the proceedings. Cuccinelli testified that he 'made clear at all times' that DHS did not have the authority to take such a step, one of the sources said.

"Inside the Trump White House after the 2020 election, the push to seize voting machines eventually led to executive orders being drafted in mid-December of that year, directing the military and DHS to carry out the task despite Wolf and Cuccinelli telling Trump and his allies their agency did not have the authority to do so.

"Those orders, which cited debunked claims about voting system irregularities in Michigan and Georgia, were presented to Trump by his former national security adviser Michael Flynn and then-lawyer Sidney Powell during a now-infamous Oval Office meeting on December 18."

DHS claimed that following a data breach in Dec 2020, #ChadWolf & #KenCuccinnelli were given temporary phones & instructed to use Signal to communicate in December 2020 and January 2021. #DHS claims the agency retained the #Signal messages, but given that 1 of its selling points is the “disappearing messages” feature, the accuracy of this claim may be questionable.

Wolf was the Homeland Security Secretary. Now re-read the whole thing, & come up with your own conclusions

DHS lists no efforts made to recover the messages.
