Date - 30 September 2025 Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,310) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution. Since the coup, a total of (29,754) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,464) are currently in detention, (11,134) of whom are serving sentences. These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly. The 'Silk Road of Surveillance' report exposes the significant collaboration between the illegal Myanmar military junta and China's Geedge Networks in implementing a commercial version of China’s "Great Firewall", giving the junta unprecedented capabilities to track down, arrest, torture and kill civilians.

Eines der deutschen Unternehmen, Utimaco, soll Medienberichten zufolge auch in Myanmar aktiv gewesen sein. Auf Anfrage hieß es von Utimaco, das Unternehmen habe stets alle Gesetze und Vorschriften eingehalten. Außerdem hätte man niemals direkte Geschäfte mit einem der Mobilfunknetzbetreiber in Myanmar getätigt.

Today in Labor History September 18, 1988: The 8888 Uprising in Myanmar ended. Students started the protests in Yangon. As the protests spread, hundreds of thousands of monks, children, university students, housewives, doctors and common people joined the movement to overthrow the military dictatorship. Up to 10,000 people were slaughtered over the 6-month protest movement.
