On Sunday I went for a frigid walk at the beach. It was really cold so I thought I would climb up on the ice floes and slide around a bit. But to my surprise I smashed right through the ice to the sand below! *Ahem* too much winter weight? 😂 The ice was very soft and slushy. Whoops!

Gallops Island, one of the Boston Harbor Islands, photographed from Buck Hill.

Of all of the Boston Harbor Islands that can be viewed from Buck Hill, Gallops Island is the most difficult to see. From most vantage points, it is fully hidden behind Chickatawbut Hill. But I was able to find a spot where I was able to capture a portion of the island.

In #BostonHarbor , a group of #Massachusetts colonists disguised as #MohawkIndians board three tea ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor.

… was in protest of the #British Parliament’s #TeaAct of 1773, a bill designed to save the faltering #EastIndiaCompany by greatly lowering its tea tax and granting it a virtual monopoly on the American tea trade.
