Il Tempo: Iran, Meloni: "Viviamo in un tempo di 'policrisi'. Serve cooperazione strategica"
"Noi europei non siamo stati gli unici a prendere coscienza delle nostre vulnerabilità quando gli shock hanno colpito il sistema internazionale. Se la guerra in Ucraina ha scosso anzitutto l'Europa, le tensioni che attraversano il Medio Oriente e le minacce alla libertà di navigazione nello Stretto di Hormuz hanno posto anche le Nazioni del Golfo davanti alla necessità di confrontarsi con nuove fragilità e nuove incertezze. È quello il tempo della 'policrisi': uno scenario nel quale crisi differenti, anche lontane tra loro per origine e natura, finiscono per sommarsi, amplificarsi reciprocamente e produrre effetti sempre più profondi sugli equilibri globali. Ed è proprio per questo che serve una capacità nuova di cooperazione strategica, fondata non soltanto sulla gestione delle emergenze, ma sulla condivisione di una visione di lungo periodo". La presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, all'Europa Gulf Forum di Navarino, in Grecia, delinea lo scenario a cui l'Europa è il mondo si trovano a far fronte. Per poi fare il punto sulla crisi che richiede una più rapida soluzione: la guerra in Medio Oriente.
"Siamo convinti - afferma Meloni - che una soluzione sostenibile alla crisi debba poggiare su alcuni pilastri. Il primo è la riapertura dello Stretto di Hormuz, senza pedaggi o restrizioni discriminatorie, perché è dalla libertà di navigazione che passa la prosperità non solo del Mediterraneo e del Golfo, ma di tutto il mondo". "L'Italia è pronta a fare la propria parte per contribuire, non appena ve ne saranno le condizioni, alla sicurezza della navigazione" nello Stretto di Hormuz, "nel solco di quanto già fatto nel Mar Rosso e nell'Oceano Indiano con le missioni Aspides e Atalanta". E nell'ambito della cooperazione internazionale lunedì 18 maggio, alle 10.30 la premier incontrerà a Palazzo Chigi il presidente della Repubblica di Polonia Karol Nawrocki mentre per venerdì 22 maggio, sempre a palazzo Chigi alle 15.30, ricevetà il primo Ministro d'Irlanda Micheál Martin.

We Europeans were not the only ones to realize our vulnerabilities when shocks hit the international system. While the war in Ukraine initially shook Europe, the tensions in the Middle East and the threats to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz also forced the Gulf States to confront new fragility and new uncertainties. This is the time of the “polycrisis” scenario – one in which different crises, even those distant in origin and nature, end up adding to each other, amplifying each other, and producing increasingly profound effects on global balances. And that’s why a new capacity for strategic cooperation is needed, based not only on emergency management, but on sharing a long-term vision. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, at the Europa Gulf Forum in Navarino, Greece, outlines the scenario that Europe and the world are facing. Then she assesses the crisis that requires a more rapid solution: the war in the Middle East.
“We are convinced – Meloni states – that a sustainable solution to the crisis must be based on several pillars. The first is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, without tolls or discriminatory restrictions, because it is through freedom of navigation that the prosperity of not only the Mediterranean and the Gulf, but of the whole world, passes.” “Italy is ready to do its part to contribute, as soon as the conditions allow, to the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, “following the example already taken in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean with the Aspides and Atalanta missions.” And within the framework of international cooperation, on Monday, May 18th at 10:30 am, the Prime Minister will meet with the President of Poland Karol Nawrocki at Palazzo Chigi, while on Friday, May 22nd, also at Palazzo Chigi at 3:30 pm, she will receive the Prime Minister of Ireland, Micheál Martin.
