Would you like to talk about your witchy practice any? If not, totally ok - just curious! Alternate/bonus question: Top favorite animals & why?
Yeah! I started out trying to be kind of atheistic and 'belief-as-a-tool' about it but it sort of took on its own shape and now I lean more spiritual/animist with it. It's something I've been doing for a longish while - magic often works well for practical problems which is what got me into it but it has also been my way of working through the big, confusing difficult existential parts of being a human. Giant emotional projects like wading through my generational baggage or parts of my psyche that work against me. I'm like kirby, I take a bite of something too big to handle intellectually and borrow its energies for a while and then use spells to work through it. I'm pretty private about details since that's so specific for every person and I'd be oversharing, but some books i love are Postmodern Magic, Six Ways, and The Crooked Path. I learned from the internet though, from all the random websites and blogs full of both very helpful and very unhelpful ideas. I'm also a tarot reader but have taken a long break from it on account of the america-hellscape rekindling my ocd.
Animals? I'm simple, I love them all. I have always been around cats and sometimes dogs, and birds and squirrels are my neighbors. Sometimes there are deer or turkeys too. I am excited about every cute creature I see, so my favorite animals are the ones I'm currently getting to hang out with. These days that's my orange cat Charlie, who is taking a break from being a Wild Terror to sleep.
