x123Wow, just won my first #angband game ever! Ultimately found success with a Dunadan Ranger. Wasn't sure I would ever have achieved that, but my last character (a High-Elf Mage) got close, but was killed by Sauron.
River City Random ☑️Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup aka #dcss is pretty damn hard. Even playing the recommended "easy build" of a Gargoyle Berserker, I keep dying around character and dungeon level 5. It's like you go straight from fighting a few loose rats and snakes to getting ambushed by an entire orc army all at once. And you can't grind XP because each level is permanent and the monsters stay dead, unlike in #Angband and #ADOM. #roguelike #yasd
I recently picked up a new classic #roguelike, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup or #dcss. I am really impressed by its #qualityoflife features compared to #Angband and #Nethack, including a web client, mouse support, auto-move, and auto-fight. It really shows how a game can have a great easy-to-learn interface but still be balls hard. I like it.
