This is why you'll see me giving spirited defences of #Rojava / #AANES, the #Zapatistas, but also what #MarxistLeninists often call #AES states (#ActuallyExistingSocialism) like #vietnam and #china. The "critical" in critical support is for criticism, not to signify importance.

I've read unbiased information about all of them, and I firmly believe they are #anticapitalist in spirit, with varying levels of success and implementation in practice.

I don't think it's fair to countries like #Vietnam or #China when people bring up how their schools indoctrinate students in "marxism" or "ho chi minh thought".

Put differently, one could easily say "in american schools, they teach Washingtonian, Lincolnist, and Reaganist thought" and be correct about it.

But I've never seen anyone who criticizes #ActuallyExistingSocialism who also talks about American or western schools that way
