PhD student in the van der Stelt lab working on endocannabinoid signaling with an interest in chemical biology and drug discovery. Climber 🧗‍♀️
The Leiden Institute of Chemistry is looking to hire 5-6 new PIs (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) for the focus fields of Chemical Biology and Energy & Sustainability. Check it out, if you are interested in becoming our new colleague! In Chemical Biology, we are especially looking for someone for the profiles of "Molecular cell biology" and "Bio-orthogonal modification of biomolecules". Nevertheless, the call is also open to all fields of Chemical Biology. https://www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/vacancies/2023/q1/23-063assistant-associate-full-professors-in-chemistry-5---6-positions

If you’re at the right place at the right time, with the right equipment, this is possible.

Last night, with guidance from https://transit-finder.com/, I positioned myself along the narrow line where the International #SpaceStation would pass between me and the nearly full moon.

I used a Fujifilm X-T4 shooting 4K video through a Celestron 8” SCT to capture the pass. Then, back at the computer this morning, put together these views with PIPP, Registax, and GIMP.

Quite pleased. My best yet.

Congratulations to the @LED3hub groups of @mariovdstelt and Nathaniel Martin and especially to first authors Alexander Bakker and Ioli Kotsogianni on publishing their paper "Chemical Proteomics Reveals Antibiotic Targets of Oxadiazolones in MRSA" in the journal JACS. https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.2c10819
Great to see this paper by the groups of @mariovdstelt and Nathaniel Martin with first authors Alexander Bakker and Ioli Kotsogianni out in JACS. Exciting chemical biology and medicinal chemistry research to identify a new #covalent #antibiotic with activity in MRSA. @LED3hub https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.2c10819
What a nice late Christmas present to see this out in #JACS now. This paper shows how chemical proteomics can assist target deconvolution in the discovery of new covalent antibiotics against MRSA. Great work by first authors Alexander Bakker and Ioli Kotsogianni from the groups of @mariovdstelt and Nathaniel Martin. Happy that the work I did for my master’s thesis could contribute to this story. @LED3hub

Quite a nicely done interactive piece about how AI text-to-image systems such as stable diffusion or Dall-E work.

How text-to-image AI generates images out of thin works

AI image generators like DALL-E, Lensa and stable diffusion create pictures and photos by interpreting and pairing text and images.
