Mass surveillance and censorship are escalating in many countries right now. There is a global attack on secure encrypted communication. Often, authorities, politicians, and tech companies work together to push for new laws. One example: when Ashton Kutcher (yes, the actor), through his tech company Thorn, tried to introduce total surveillance of all EU citizens through undemocratic and corrupt methods.

October 19th 2024, 7:45 am. I sit down in front of my desk at the office and start my day. But after 5 minutes, the automated daily Slack message for failures comes in. The coffee on my desk is still steaming as I brace myself. I realize it’s gonna be a very long day. The number just stares right back at me: 1218 failures.

@mrkreuzer I was looking for exactly the same a few days ago, and ended up trying out Gitlab. I wanted something private so I did not go for codeberg. Gitlab was founded by an Ukrainian and is based in Netherlands now if I remember correctly
