I enjoy woodworking with no power tools and fly fishing. On the digital front, I’m slowly moving away from the big tech giants towards other solutions. #Woodworking, #flyfishing, #tenkara, #handtools, #dvorak, #linux, #technology, #openweb

If you do a lot of cord wrapping in your projects, heads up that The Maine Thread Company based in Lewiston is discontinuing/discounting color options for polished cord (I prefer the 2mm size). It’s quality cord and a great company. I just ordered enough for the rest of my life. This photo shows a tray I recently made with their cord, as an example. https://mainethread.com/collections/closeouts #woodworking

The FDA won’t tell Americans where their generic drugs are made, so ProPublica did it instead.

Use information from your prescription label to locate the factory and see if the plant has a history of inspection violations:

Where Was My Generic Prescription Drug Made? - Rx Inspector - ProPublica

The focus for us at @Vivaldi has always been to do what our users want us to do. So we have spent time on things like:

- Work spaces and tab stacks
- Tab tiling
- Mouse gestures
- Customizable keyboard shortcuts
- Tracker and ad blocker
- Panels and Web panels
- Cross platform, encrypted sync function
- Advanced bookmarking function with speed dials
- Customizable dashboard
- Massive customization options in general.
- Notes functionality

We have also added stuff like this in our desktop browser

- Mail client
. Calendar
- Feed reader
- Proton VPN integration

Not everyone uses everything we make, but that is also the point. The fact that we listen to special requests is IMHO a feature and not a bug. We value power users as well.

On the other hand, we have stayed away from certain things. Things like:

- Blockchain / Crypto currencies
- AI

You can find us on Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android and iOS. You can even find us in many cars running Android Automotive.

We are not the largest browser company in the world, but we are dedicated and we are growing. More and more are giving us a try. Have you?

"That cyclist who hung solar lights on the Greenway understood something city planners seem to have forgotten: Don’t let perfect be the enemy of the good, and light is better than darkness."

How We Ride in the Dark

Thieves are stealing more than wire from Twin Cities streetlights: They’re stealing our safety, our choices, and our ability to live car-free.

First of last four bored.

Remembered I have *one* hex auger, a Ø 18mm. It clears the wide beam from a single side. I could power through with the new Metabo grande. It would take more holes per mortise, but I'd have been done by now.

I’ve gone this far. I’ll keep on by brace. 💪 Can’t use power tools on Sunday anyway.

The brace is pleasantly quiet. I like that. Just a soft curling noise as the wood ringlets flow up and over. I usually have to pause once mid hole. It gets the heart rate up.

I finally got around to gutting and cleaning up this old, broken German radio. Now it has a HomePod inside. I use the iMac next to it to hold an iPad, so now I have a fun setup in the shop for streaming music. The tube radio parts I removed are fascinating.

My wife shot this image of a golden eagle this morning using her iPhone while we were out near Gathland State Park in Maryland. I think it’s an impressive image given the equipment. The most impressive part was the proximity of the eagle, who couldn’t care less that we were so close. #hiking #birds
