This is why I love #3dprinting!
It's just so easy to build custom things that have absolutely zero market viability!
(quick print to prevent my bins from sliding around in my drawer)
It's here! Upgrading to the #MK4S tonight!
I needed some hard numbers for a post I'm writing on async/await, and why it's important (including comparing to green threads).
So here's the result of 30 hours of benchmarking/writing the benchmark.
TL;DR - Async/Await is awesome for scalability in .NET!
Woot!
My #selfhosted #Mastodon instance has finally caught up after adding my first relay (relay.infosec.exchange). Added a slightly larger relay a few days ago, which had no impact on utilization (you can't even see it on the graph) - so I'm likely federating with at least the servers I care about.
(30 day retention, about 250GB of media, currently stored on a Ceph block, I might want to switch to object storage at some point)
This #github extension is neat! Hundreds of small improvements, like color coding dates or showing white-space, for ease of scanning.
Random question for #mastoadmin - anyone seeing a lot of segfaults from ffmpeg when new media is discovered?
lscr.io's image to be precise.
After over 2 years outside in the Texas snow/rain/heat I'm calling my trash-can pickup sensor a success! No moisture ingress!
It's an #Insteon door sensor, replacing the magnetic presence sensor with a tilt sensor, hot-glued in a cheap project box. All attached to my cans.
The idea was to notify me when the trash/recycling has been picked up each week, so I know when to bring the cans in.
Finally got around to organizing my Pyrex lids, thanks to LittleGreenFire -
