The relentless attack on trans people is an attack on all of us. Great piece by @jbouie

“To deny equal respect and dignity to any part of the citizenry is to place the entire country on the road to tiered citizenship and limited rights, to liberty for some and hierarchy for the rest,”

Which one do you enjoy, where people are not just posting their stuff for likes, but also discuss and give feedback?

DM if you don't want to openly share. Would be happy for tips.

Physicist John Tyndall is often credited w discovering the greenhouse effect, which he wrote about in 1859.

But female scientist Eunice Foote published a paper - 3yrs earlier - demonstrating how atmospheric water vapor & CO2 affected solar heating. She theorized that heat trapping gases in Earth’s atmosphere warm its #climate.

Tyndall was widely read. And Foote, being a woman, wasn't even permitted to present her own work.

Happy 200th birthday to Eunice Foote, hidden climate science pioneer

American Eunice Foote was an amateur scientist and women's rights pioneer from the mid-1800s whose experiments foreshadowed the discovery of Earth's greenhouse effect.

Another store for the upcoming book is ready and edited - number 34! I imagined a store selling European-style sweets that would be intriguing enough for children to make them want to go in and explore but also cool enough for adults so they could buy their daily high-quality Swiss chocolate, etc.
The next store for my upcoming book is done! This one is number 33, so there are only 7 more to go! I imagined here one of these a bit shady, a bit quirky buildings containing offices that I'm never really sure what their purpose is. (Here, a publishing firm, a shady detective agency, and probably a tax agency on the first floor).

How do you do fellow trees?

For thousands of years, fermenting beer was considered a household task for #women.

By the Middle Ages, some sold beer at English markets. Female brewers wore tall, pointy hats to be easily spotted. They stood by cauldrons & often had cats to keep mice away.

Sound familiar? It should.

You see, when male brewers felt threatened, they accused the women of witchcraft. These rumors may have led to some witch iconography we still recognize today.

Women used to dominate the beer industry – until the witch accusations started pouring in

Today, beer is marketed to men and the industry is run by men. It wasn’t always that way.
