What I Wish Someone Told Me When I Was Getting Into ARIA — Smashing Magazine

[Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA)](https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/aria/) is an inevitability when working on web accessibility. That said, it’s everyone’s first time learning about ARIA at some point.

I’m still seeing so many comments like, “how is it legal?!” looking at rights and law stories in America, like a congressperson being actively restrained.

Parts of America and its federal and state agencies are now past the stage of “legality”. It’s that stage of a fascist coup. They don’t care.

Hoy por fin recibí mi título de doctorado. Me costó mucho trabajo lograr esto y me da tristeza que no haya podido compartir esto con mi papá y mi abue. Al mismo tiempo, estoy muy contento por haber llegado hasta aquí.

Today I finally received my PhD diploma. It took a lot of hard work to get here, and it makes me sad that I couldn’t share this moment with my dad and my grandma. At the same time, I’m really happy to have made it this far

This project grew out of my lecture series at the University of Osnabrück – heartfelt thanks to all the students for their invaluable engagement and enthusiastic feedback.

Excellent piece from @zephoria from Tech Policy Press arguing for "interventionism" - a form of pragmatism that seeks to recognise the uncertainty in socio-technical systems while ascribing importance to legal, policy and social mechanisms that counter-balance techno-solutionist narratives.
