Anyone know if Maruman make traditional A5 notebooks using the same paper found in their Mnemosyne pads?
I've been using their A5 spiral-bound pad for some projects & I'm loving how my #FountainPens feel on it, but the landscape layout & removable pages isn't really what I want from a notebook dedicated to meeting/talk notes. I still love the Life notebooks I currently use, but I'd really like to try the Maruman paper longer-term & that would be the best way for me.
A recent trip to New Zealand to visit her pen pal of 40 years made an Associated Press reporter from New Hampshire wonder about the history of programs that bring strangers together to write letters. While the program that matched them as teenagers folded years ago, others are still going strong. And even though the government postal service in Denmark recently stopped delivering letters altogether, some see signs of a letter-writing resurgence. More than 15,000 people signed up for a pen pal program created by a writer for The New Yorker during the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, an app called Slowly that mimics the anticipation of receiving a letter by delaying digital message deliveries has 10 million users.

From the deep, deep sea she rises. Her distant brethren in the shallows may sport long hair, beauty and mirrors, but she knows they'd never survive alone in the depths. But they're always very polite to her when she visits. Maybe they're just that nice, or maybe they realise that the depths are the last sanctuary, and they may some day need a friend.

I have so many fountain pens, I forget how nice some of them are. Am currently seeing if I can make do with only one inked at a time. Well, one plus the Lamy Joy wide italic I use for writing the date in my journal.
I just cleaned out the Sailor 1911S Wicked Witch of the West (black coated EF nib) I got in 2020. A thin thin line, with a fair amount of feedback. I yearned for that pen because of the color, a dusty purple.
I pulled out the black Pelikan M200 with the EF steel nib that I got in 2011. A thicker, wetter line with the same ink. Just as light as the Sailor but somehow more prosaic.
