What's the German word for when you promise someone you'll send them a draft when it's complete -- which will definitely be in the next couple of weeks, I swear -- but by the time the draft is actually done, it is so far past the promised by date it is too embarrassing to send it to them.

We do understand the #globalwarming caused by fossil fuels - for four decades it’s been going as predicted.
But we don’t understand the surprise upward leap that is happening now.
And that worries me.

Ahh, so the US *can* declare vehicles too dangerous for public use -- but only if it's a niche product (in this case, one involved in 4 deaths over 3 years).

It still won't touch the oversized trucks/SUVs that endanger all Americans who walk, bike, or use a smaller car.

All signs point to PM Rishi Sunak announcing scrapping the U.K.'s only high speed rail link to Manchester, while he is in Manchester for the Conservative Party Conference.

This is to focus on the needs of the British people, including fixing potholes(?) and insulating about 8,000 houses.

FYI, the PM flew the Manchester. Hasn't taken a train since he took office.
